The courtyard of the University of Evora, Portugal
The university was re-openned nearly two hundred years later in 1973 as Instituto Universitário de Évora (University Institute of Évora), in the site of the older university. Six years later, in 1979, the name was changed to Universidade de Évora. The University of Évora is made up of numerous buildings, scattered throughout the city and surrounding areas, which accommodate the various departments. Virtually all are recoveries of old and historic buildings in one form or another.
