Bogd Khan Palace/Museum, Ulaanbaatar

Sumptuous Ger covered with the skins of 150 Snow Leopards

After being burnt in the early 1800's the complex of Summer Temples was rebuilt  between 1893 and 1903. The Winter Palace itself was built for Bogd Khan in 1905, where he lived for the next 20 years.

The complex of temples and houses contain a large number of Buddhist artworks including gifts from rulers and kings from all over the world.

It is situated half way to Zaisan hill to the south of the city centre.
