INDIA 2015 - NALANDA Buddhist University

Nalanda was a large Buddhist monastery (Mahavihara) in the ancient kingdom of Magadha (modern-day Bihar) in India. The site is located about 95 kilometres southeast of Patna near the town of Bihar Sharif, and was a centre of learning from the 5th century to 1200 AD, when it was destroyed by the invading Mughals.
 The school attracted scholars and students from near and far with some travelling from Tibet, China, Korea, and Central Asia.

At its peak, the university had 10,000 student monks and 2,000 staff
