Phra Borom Maha Ratcha Wang - The Grand Palace Complex
 


This complex was the official residence of the king of Thailand from the 18th century to the mid-20th century
and is still considered by many as the spiritual centre of the country
 
Wat Phra Kaew temple, top and above left, is the home of the Emerald Buddha
 
 

Phra Mondop (above and below) wherein a large mother-of-pearl bookcase houses the 84,000 chapters of the Tripitaka
