THE KINGDOM OF BHUTAN
a Buddhist country

Cliff-face buildings near Paro - Drakha Dzong (Monastery) and Takshang Lhakang (Temple)

Climbing up to the Drakha Dzong

Children operating a line of prayer wheels at Drakha Dzong

Climbing up to the Takshang Lhakang "Tiger's Nest" - the holiest temple in Bhutan

You can just make out the temple on the cliff face

Some people walk up the 800 metres climb just to get level with the monastery - and then there are hundreds of steep steps to cross the chasm - down then up to get to the monastery itself,  - then down and up to return . . . . .

. . . . . and some people ride up most of the way

Getting closer
